SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY
As part of the Body of Christ in the world, Christ Lutheran members are committed to service which improves the quality of our life together and strengthens our community locally, regionally and globally.
Christ’s Kitchen, Red Wagon Sunday, Libby and Troy food pantries - CLC members help where it hurts.
Each year a group of women or men or youth (or a combination) take a week of their time and “spend it” in service to those in need. For high school youth it can be an experience which gives shape to their understanding of the world at this transitional point in their lives.
Christ Lutheran is a Habitat Covenant Partner Congregation and was instrumental in founding the Kootenai Valley Partners chapter.
Servant Saturdays and Thursday Thing-a-ma-jigs
Regular opportunities for service on a smaller scale occur through occasional “Servant Saturdays” and regular “Thursday Thingamajigs.” CLC members gather for a few hours of projects which benefit congregation or community, share a lunch, and generally have a good time.
Quilts and More
Quilts, health kits, school kits, infant care kits are prepared throughout the year and shipped in the spring. Care packages for those in the military or away at college are sent several times each year.
