The congregation has called the Rev. Steven Benson to serve as pastor.

Pastor Steven Benson
   has served as a pastor in Montana, Minnesota, Connecticut, India, Egypt and Madagascar. He has earned an M. Div. in Christian ministry and an M. A. in Islamic Studies and Christian Muslim relations. Experienced in counseling and trained as a teacher of meditation, his sermons are practical yet challenging and grounded in Lutheran theology while drawing from a variety of other religious and 12-step traditions.

Parish Nurses
CLC has several nurses among its members, including three who are certified Parish Nurses” providing education, advocacy, and health promotion in the congregation and community. Parish Nurses Amy Smart, R. N., and Barbara Benson, R. N., work in health ministry with lead Parish Nurse Mitzi Smart, R. N. - A resident of Libby for 35 years and native of Pennsylvania where she went to nursing school, Mitzi has many years of nursing experience in Pennsylvania, California, Oregon, the US Army Nurse Corps, Lutheran World Relief in Nigeria, hospitals, nursing homes, and medical offices. She completed Parish nurse training in 2000, and has been CLC Parish Nurse since 2001. Mitzi is married to Don Smart and has two grown children and three grandsons.

Church Council
A team of eleven, the council members and officers serve within a framework of “secretariats” to guide and support our congregational life.

Trained Teachers and Leaders
Many CLC members are trained and experienced Bible teachers. The CROSSWAYS and WELCA studies provide significant learning. Select CLC members have been in formal training for lay pastoral ministry.

Visitation Team
A team of men and women make regular visits to members who cannot regularly attend worship to provide support, encouragement, and the sacrament of Holy Communion.

Care Team
A separate team of CLC members attempt to be aware of special needs and to provide or arrange for needed services.
